For over 35 years, Mark Smart has been performing various styles of music on guitar, bass, sax, keyboards, Chapman Stick, and other instruments. He began playing the Continuum in 2004 and has used it for NAMM Show demonstrations, solo jazz looping, a classic rock cover band, and two performances with symphony orchestras.
His favorite use for the Continuum is to drive custom ensembles he built with Native Instuments’ Reaktor software, including synthesizers that automatically generate harmony voices beneath a lead note being played. He has also created custom Continuum surfaces with slightly raised black keys to facilitate playing without looking. He will be showing most of these things at Continuucon.
